Talmaara is a worldbuilding and creative writing platform operated by Savage Gamez, LLC, a limited liability company organized in the State of Maine, United States. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
For privacy-related questions or requests, contact us at privacy@talmaara.com.
When you create an account, we collect the following:
To keep accounts secure and to understand who visits our public pages, the web server and application record a limited amount of technical information:
Country is looked up locally on our own server, so your IP address is never sent to a third party and is not kept in these analytics records. Both kinds of record are stored on our servers, are accessible only to our staff, are never used for advertising or profiling, and are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics service.
This site uses cookies only for authentication and security — to keep you signed in and protect our forms. We do not set cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or behavioral profiling.
All sign-in cookies are sent only over HTTPS and are protected against access by other sites and scripts. Some interface preferences are kept in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device. You can delete cookies in your browser settings, but because the authentication cookies are strictly necessary, blocking them will prevent you from signing in. Some checkout and anti-abuse features (such as Stripe and Google reCAPTCHA) may set their own cookies when active — see Third-party services below.
We rely on a small number of external service providers to operate the platform. Each may receive limited information needed to perform its function, including your IP address as part of a normal web request:
All fonts and interface assets are served directly from our own servers; we do not load fonts or scripts from third-party content delivery networks.
Our newsletter is optional and separate from your account. We send it only to addresses that have confirmed their subscription through a verification email (double opt-in), and for each subscriber we store the email address, an optional name, the subscription status, and the date subscribed.
Newsletter messages include standard engagement tracking — an open-tracking pixel and click-through redirect links, logged with the time, IP address, and browser so we can measure delivery. This applies only to the newsletter, never to account or transactional email, and every message includes an unsubscribe link. Account confirmations, password resets, and billing receipts are transactional and are sent regardless of newsletter status.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required or permitted by law to retain it (for example, billing records kept for tax compliance). Security logs and public-page analytics are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time.
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@talmaara.com. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, restrict processing of, or request erasure of personal data held about you. You also have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our lawful bases for processing are: performance of a contract (providing the service you subscribed to), legitimate interests (security and fraud prevention), and legal obligation (tax and billing records).
You can exercise your right to data portability yourself at any time: each workspace includes a World Export tool (under workspace settings) that downloads a complete, machine-readable JSON copy of your worlds, lore, books and maps along with your own account profile and billing history. To exercise any other right, contact us at privacy@talmaara.com.
We are based in the United States, and some of the service providers we use (such as Stripe and Resend) also process data in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your country.
Where we transfer personal data of individuals in the European Union or United Kingdom to a country that has not received an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission (and the UK equivalent) — which our providers incorporate into their data-processing terms.
This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at privacy@talmaara.com and we will promptly delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
